Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper for a part time (16 hours a week fully flexible)contract/temporary opportunity in Pomona, CA within the energy and utilities industry. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional who can step in during a leave of absence and keep daily accounting operations running smoothly.

The Full Charge Bookkeeper will support general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax filing, and QuickBooks accounting functions. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership of the full bookkeeping cycle, working closely with a CPA, and contributing to accurate, timely financial records in a stable business environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage full charge bookkeeping functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and ensure transactions are properly coded and reconciled.
- Prepare and file sales tax-related documentation in accordance with established requirements.
- Support month-end accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account review.
- Work closely with the CPA to provide documentation, resolve accounting questions, and support financial reporting needs.
- Maintain organized accounting files and ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $26 to $27 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Pomona, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage full cycle bookkeeping responsibilities during a leave of absence coverage assignment.
- Handle QuickBooks accounting activity, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare sales tax filings and support CPA requests for financial documentation.

- 3 to 5 years of bookkeeping or full charge bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic accounting procedures.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and an external CPA.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in the energy, utilities, construction, service, or related industry.
- Experience covering accounting functions during a leave of absence or temporary transition period.
- Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to quickly learn existing accounting processes.
